Practical Genetics
A one day seminar for Sheltie and Collie Breeders
Presented by Kim Schive
Breeding good dogs is more than a matter of luck.
There are rules, and even your dogs follow them!
- Should I inbreed, linebreed or outcross? What are the potential benefits and risks?
- What breeding strategies can I use to improve structure and temperament or control size?
- Why does that mediocre stud dog consistently sire puppies better then himself while my specialty winning bitch has yet to produce a puppy even close to her quality?
- A genetic problem showed up in a dog of my breeding? What should I do now?
This seminar will answer these questions and more. It will provide you with the basic and advanced genetic concepts every breeder needs and will help you build the solid framework of genetic knowledge you need to get the breeding results you want.
